10 new additions to the bill

Graspop Metal Meeting 2016 is shaping up nicely with 10 new additions to next year’s bill. Punk heroes Anti-Flag and Bad Religion, occult metal flagbearers Ghost, the devil’s cohorts from Behemoth, Belgian sludge masters Steak Number Eight, energy bombs Skindred and metalcore stalwarts Architects have been confirmed, as well as three GMM newcomers: Monster Truck, Halestorm and Sikth.

A decent night’s rest is key if you’re going to survive three days of heavy metal festival violence. Eager to please, Graspop offers the following options:

The festival campsite is located next to the Metal Plaza and the festival arena is accessible between 2pm on Thursday 16th June and noon on Monday 20th June. All festival ticket holders have access to the campsite, where you can spend the night in your own tent. If you don’t feel like lugging around a tent and an air mattress, you can always rent a tent on-site. Full details on the festival campsite here.

You want to catch every minute of the festival but you’re also hell-bent on a good night’s sleep? In that case Metal Town might be just the ticket for you with its Festicabins and Festihuts, or you can also rent your own slot for your campervan, caravan or tent. Located just under a kilometre from the festival arena, Metal Town offers a host of amenities: an extensive breakfast buffet, mains power at every slot, toilets, free showers and those who don’t fancy the short hike to the arena can use the free shuttle service. Cheap train and bus transport to the festival

Graspop Metal Meeting, the Belgian national railway company SNCB/NMBS and public transport company De Lijn are teaming up again to whisk you to the festival, fast and easy and at minimal cost. The train will take you to Mol train station for a mere pittance. From there, a shuttle service organised by De Lijn will take you to the festival site. Eliminate traffic stress and enjoy a relaxing trip to Dessel with your friends!

Cheap e-train ticket: just 10 euros for a round trip

Last year, the SNCB/NMBS launched an extensive summer campaign aimed specifically at festivals. This year, the Belgian national railway company is again scheduling a large number of extra trains to take festivalgoers to their destination, and this also includes a renewed collaboration with Graspop Metal Meeting. For just 10 euros, festivalgoers can buy an Graspop Metal Meeting e-train ticket. This ticket covers the outward and return journey by train in 2nd class between any Belgian departure station and MOL train station. The outward and return journey must be made in the period from Thursday 16th through Monday 20th June 2016.

The Graspop Metal Meeting e-train ticket will be available as of Wednesday 25th May 2016, exclusively online at www.sncb.be/graspop. In addition, you also stand a chance of winning one of a host of Graspop Experience packages. They include a signing fast lane ticket that takes you directly to the front of the queue at the signing stand, an exclusive backstage tour and a skydeck pass to watch your favourite band perform from the front of house platform.

The NMBS is scheduling extra capacity to take festivalgoers to their destination as seamlessly as possible. It’s important to note there are no night trains: if you want to go home at the end of your festival day please keep in mind that the last train leaves Mol station around 10pm. Every festival ticket includes access to our campsite so if you’re planning on leaving the next morning, you can spend the night there.

Shuttle service for all festivalgoers

De Lijn is organising a shuttle service between Mol station and the festival site, as well as between the festival site and the K&R zone in the centre of Dessel (with an intermediate stop at the entrance to  Metal Town). Festival ticket holders can use this service free of charge.
