Special gigs at Graspop Metal Meeting 2015!
June 15, 2015
A lot of bands have planned something special for Graspop Metal Meeting 2015. Discover here what you’re in for!
We’re not the only ones celebrating our 20th anniversary! In 1994 - that’s right, 20 years ago - Korn released their debut album. In celebration of the 20th anniversary the band will play the first album in its entirety and that includes the rarely played song “Daddy”.
Be sure to come down to the Metal Dome on Thursday! If not for the Red Bull Bedroom Jam, the GMM 2015 Opening Party or the explosive set by DJ Will & DJ Carl, then for the video premiere of Evergrey’s brand new clip “Black Undertow”.
Texas In July was one of the revelations of GMM 2012 and three years later they’re back for more with their new album ‘Bloodwork’. Be sure to catch their gig at Graspop Metal Meeting, ‘cause the band has announced their farewell European tour, which means GMM 2015 will be one of their last concerts in Europe.
In 2011 & in spite of a growing fan base, Dessel-based Oceans of Sadness decided 15 years of metal was enough. Never say never though because almost 5 years later the band thought it would be a great idea to celebrate 20 years of GMM in the only way that matters and that’s on a GMM stage! Looks like GMM 2015 is your last chance to catch this avant-garde metal outfit live so be there!
Thursday’s headliner Bliksem will present their brand new album “Gruesome Masterpiece” at Graspop Metal Meeting, which will also be sold in avant-premiere at the festival. Besides that the band will record a videoclip for their new single which will appear early September.
Amorphis is also doing an exclusive 20th anniversary show in honour of their classic album “Tales From The Thousand Lakes”. The band will play the record in its entirety at the Marquee on Sunday. Another must-see at Graspop Metal Meeting is Samael. The band will perform their third album “Ceremony of Opposites” entirely on Friday at the Metal Dome.
Supergroup The Dead Daisies will open Mainstage 2 on Friday in style. The band is giving away a signed ESP LTD guitar, which you can win by taking a picture of the band during their gig and by tweeting this pic with hashtag #TheDeadDaisiesGMM.
This year we’re welcoming loads of GMM newcomers and two of the most anticipated are definitely Body Count and Faith No More. Both bands had their big breakthrough in the early ‘90s with their charasmatic frontmen: rap guru Ice-T and jack-of-all-trades Mike Patton. The contrast between Body Count’s gangster metal and Faith No More’s sophisticated work will be an interesting thing to see.
If there’s one band you can count on to bring something special it’s Kiss. GMM 2015 is not an exception: expect fireworks, lots of special effects and the occasional Superman stunt!
